Our Wines

Thirsty Owl Wine Company's name has become synonymous with award winning wines. The winery has won many prestigious awards, including the Governor's Cup and the John Rose award for their Rieslings. This past year, its Pinot Noir was the highest rated North American Pinot at the Taster's Guild International competition. We produce some of the area’s only Malbec and Syrah, along with unique blends, reds, whites and ice wines.

DRY White Wines

Pinot Gris - A fresh white with faint, floral aromas. Flavors of pineapple, pear and green melon, with a light, crisp dry finish.

Chardonnay - Aromas of tangy green apple, medium bodied and mild oak. Fruity flavors balanced by a lively and buttery finish.

Gewürztraminer - Hints of rose petal and lychee fruit, with a bright spicy finish.

Dry Riesling - A summer white with bright, citrus aromas. Just enough sweetness to display lively notes of nectarine, with a soft dry finish.

SEMI-SWEET WHITE WINES

Traminette - This Gewürztraminer hybrid is true to its parentage, with delicate floral notes and a crisp, clean finish.

Vidal Blanc - Lively fruit with tropical overtones, a hint of pineapple and an easy finish.

Riesling - Notes of peach, plum and nectarine, and a bright, clean finish.

Snow Owl - A perfect blend of Cayuga White & Seyval, for a pleasant balance of fruity acidity.

SWEETER WINES

Semi-Sweet Riesling - Fruit forward notes of stone fruits, and a clean, round finish.

Diamond - A sweet finish bursting with fresh grape flavors and aromas.

Blushing Moon - Fresh with subtle sweetness and a hint of strawberry.

Tailspin - A splash of raspberry with a wave of pomegranate and a smooth, candied finish.

DRY Red Wines

Pinot Noir Rose - Lively acidity, hints of strawberry and grapefruit with a bright finish.

Pinot Noir - Flavors of red cherry, accented by hints of oak and vanilla. A lively Pinot with a polished finish.

Chancellor - A French hybrid grape. Earthy and fragrant, rich, dark fruit, and notes of coffee and tobacco.

Lot 99 - A “Revolutionary” blend. Plummy and mooth with oak accents and a lasting finish. 65% Chancellor, 35% Pinot Noir.

Cabernet Sauvignon - Ripe raspberry up front, with creamy vanilla flavors lingering in the finish. Barrel aged 15 months.

Syrah - Warm & smooth, notes of blackberry and peppery spice. Velvety tannins and a full bodied mouthfeel throughout. Barrel aged 15 months.

Malbec - An exceptionally rare find in the Finger Lakes. Estate grown fruit, with hints of clove and nutmeg. Barrel aged 15 months.

Cabernet Sauvingon/Syrah/Malbec - A trilogy of three prestigious estate grown grapes with hints of black pepper, vanilla and spice against a dark, berry finish. 56% Cabernet Sauvingon, 32% Syrah, 12% Malbec. Barrel aged 15 months.

Meritage - A blend of three “noble” Bordeaux varietals with a rich, smooth and flavorful mouthfeel; featuring a clean, elegant finish. 44% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40% Cabernet Franc, 16% Merlot. Barrel aged 15 months.

DESSERT WINES AND CIDER

Vinte (Batch 1) - This port-style classic features hints of honey, raspberry and cranberry combined against a background of luxurious oak. Aged 27 months, 17.5% alcohol.

Cabernet Sauvingon Ice Wine - Laden with heavy fruit, aromas of strawberry jam, peach and ripe raspberry. 14.0% alcohol.

Fujac Hard Cider - Drier than our Apple Wine and with a lower ABV of only 7.1%, this light and refreshing option is a perfect alternative.
